Hot News: Marion Barry complains of Asian-owned 'dirty' shops after winning DC primary | Former D.C. Mayor Marion Barry is yet again attracting the incorrect reasonably attention, when he used his election-night victory speech to decry Asian-owned stores. "We've ought to do one thing concerning these Asians returning in, gap up businesses -- those dirty outlets," Barry said Tuesday night, when winning the Democratic primary for the city's Ward eight seat and effectively securing a 3rd council term.


Barry went on to say: "They need to go. i am going to simply say that without delay, you know. however we want African-American businesspeople to be ready to take their places, too." Barry, a mainstay of D.C. politics who has held positions of power within the District since the Nineteen Seventies, has drifted in and out of controversy since returning to public workplace following his 1990 drug arrest.


After returning to serve a fourth term as mayor, he was elected to the Ward eight seat in 2004. He has repeatedly run into drug and tax issues throughout his latest tenure in workplace.
